Todays Discussion-Are You Racist or Sexist?

Todays Discussion came about when I was listening to a talk show host today and he proposed that question regarding the possibility of having a Female or Black Male President.

A lady called in and said she would not vote for Hillary Clinton, just because she is female. She went on to say that because women respond differently than men Based on her knowledge concerning women...including herself, she would not have the feeling of being secure in our country. She said, "It's just that women are usually are not as decisive as men"... They also tend to be more emotional". It's not possible to run a stable country on emotions.

Now she is a woman, so she cannot be sexist. Suppose we had a man say that, it would definitely strike the sexist cord. The talk show host said that Margaret Thatcher(Prime Minister Of The UK 1975-1990) was a great leader and he also felt that Condoleezza Rice(Our present Sec. Of State) may have possibly made a good President. Except he did not know how she stands on today's issues. He was referring to gay marriages, abortion rights, and the border issue with Mexico in regards to illegal immigration.

Would you vote for Barak Obama? If you said no, and asked, Why Not? If you replied; because he is black. You would be classified as a racist. It does not matter what your gender is.

The situation that arises here is, if a candidate can get the job done in an efficient, beneficial manner to all Americans, it should not matter what race, religion, or gender that person is.

What's your opinion on todays discussion?
